No one really wants to go to a drug and rehab center, and because of that, they will find a variety of reasons for not going. They might not be able to take all of that time off of work, they don’t think that treatment will work for them, or they don’t even think that they have a problem. But, one excuse that many people use is that they can’t afford to go to a drug and rehab center.
It is certainly true that the cost of a stay at any drug and rehab center is not cheap. It can run into the tens of thousands of dollars, but when you compare that to the cost of a drug or alcohol habit, it really is just small change. That does not mean, however, that the average person can afford it. When you are in rehab, you are not working, so you are unable to earn any money, and someone on the outside is probably having to take care of your finances and other issues.
There are, luckily, many ways that you can pay for your stay in treatment without putting yourself in financial jeopardy. First of all, many treatment centers offer scholarships or grants that will significantly reduce the cost of treatment. Many times this type of funding is not based on your financial need, but rather on your need to get into treatment, so anyone should be able to qualify.
There are also financial companies that specialize in funding this type of treatment, and a good rehab center will be able to arrange for you to get a loan to cover the cost of treatment. Yes, you might have to pay off the loan over a period of time, but it is still cheaper than being an active addict.
